large 4H clover Market Steer Project
This is the project that many people visualize when they think of 4-H. In this project, members obtain a feeder calf and raise it to market weight. This process takes at least six months, and usually more. Some members plan to show and sell their animals at local, county or State fairs. Others raise their steers as a strictly commercial venture, selling the finished animal directly to a packer, to neighbors, at auction or adding it to the home meat supply.

Here are some selected chapters to guide you in getting started:

Market Steer Handbook
Market Steer Record Book
Complete Manual for 4-H Beef Project Members!
