Objective: In an effort to combine travel and resources, the dairy cattle judging clinic is going to be held in conjunction with the 2012 Dairy Discovery program held here at Cornell. Dairy Discovery youth participants cannot participate in this clinic but the chaperones can, along with other interested educators and coaches from across the NYS. We will be using slides of the different breeds and classes of animals to demonstrate tools to use in placing dairy cattle and basics of oral reasons. We will also reference the updated PDCA Scorecard for dairy cattle judging. Resource materials for placing cattle and developing a strong set of oral reasons will be available. A CD of the 2011 4-H Dairy Cattle judging team reasons will also be available. Hope to see all of you there.
