Disbudding your goat kid

Ideally, kids should be 3 to 7 days old when you disbud them. Kids can be done up to 3 weeks of age but you will need to burn their buds longer and there will be more chance of scurs (small, deformed horns) developing. Restrain the kid by putting it in a disbudding crate or by wrapping it in a towel and having an attendant hold it in their arms.
