Probability: Phenotypic Ratios

In cats, the sex-linked locus for black and orange color has alleles T for black and t for orange. These alleles are codominant; thus, Tt produces the tortoiseshell.

An autosomal locus for spotting has a dominant allele for spotting, S, and a recessive allele for no spotting. The XTXtS- genotype is the calico.

Choose a mating:

XtXtSs x XTYSs

XTXtSs x XTYss

Select Phenotype:

  Solid black female
  Spotted black female
  Tortoiseshell female
  Calico female
  Solid orange female
