Feed formulation

This laboratory will introduce students to the FeedForm diet formulation tool. (Click and then open the FeedForm zip file and then drag the FeedForm.mdb file to your documents folder. Close the zip file and double click the FeedForm.mdb file in your documents folder to start the formulation tool.)

Practice using FeedForm to create diets for the following scenarios:

1. Formulate a corn-based diet for early lactation ewes with triplet lambs using wheat midds as the FNDF source. Include the Hewitt/Old Mill premix at 1% of the as-fed diet. Include water at 7% of the as-fed diet.

2. Formulate a corn-based diet for weaned market lambs using soy hulls as the FNDF source. Include the Hewitt/Old Mill premix at 1% of the as-fed diet. Include water at 7% of the as-fed diet.

3. Formulate a corn-based supplement for a hay-based diet for late-gestation ewes carrying triplet lambs using soy hulls as the FNDF source. Include the Hewitt/Old Mill premix at 1% of the as-fed supplement. Include water at 7% of the as-fed supplement.
