Robert W. Blake, instructor. Professor of Animal Science, Animal Breeding, and International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD)
Professor Blake studies the livestock component of agricultural systems, especially in Latin America and Africa. After 3 yr of US Peace Corps service with the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture and graduate training in animal breeding, agricultural economics and international development at North Carolina State University, he spent 10 yr on the Texas A&M University faculty before joining Cornell University in 1986.
Prof. Blake currently directs Decision Support of Ruminant Livestock Systems in the Gulf Region of Mexico, a USAID-funded project under the US-Mexico TIES Initiative . He has been a visiting scientist, consultant and evaluator with many organizations, including research centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. He is a past Director of Graduate Studies for the IARD field and a former member of the Program Committee of the Cornell International Institute for Food, Agriculture and Development (CIIFAD).
