Livestock in Tropical Farming Systems

Course Expectations

Satisfactory completion of the following to receive credit.

• Participation through discussion and sharing information in class meetings, especially when teams are assigned to lead forums on designated topics or assigned readings.
• Mid-term essay developing a semester project. The essay must be accompanied by a detailed outline of the proposed project.
• Semester project. Each student (or team of 2 students) will select a topic for a thoroughly researched technical report, which must be typed. Every student is encouraged to obtain editorial service in preparing a focused and succinct report. The quality of written expression is accounted in grading the semester project. Project topics will be approved contingent upon evaluating the essay and the detailed outline of the proposal. Due dates are in the schedule.
• Oral presentation of the report
• Final letter grades will be determined by the following weighting scheme


• 10% - Discussion
• 25% - Mid-term essay and project proposal
• 50% - Semester project report
• 15% - Oral presentation of the report
