Most of the world's livestock - the crops that walk - are utilized in agrosilvopastoral, or farming, systems in developing countries, where nutrients are scarce or limiting

Prerequisite: upperclass standing
This course analyses the constraints, the economic objectives and risks, and the methods of management involved in livestock production in developing countries of the tropics. Strategic use of animal and plant resources, animal performance with inputs restricted, and decision making are main points of focus. Principles, field study, independent study projects and classroom interactions utilizing video conferencing facilitate problem-solving to improve welfare of rural households.
