PRO-DAIRY's On Farm Environmental Management Program

Lee is a Senior Extension Associate in the Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He splits his duties working with the PRO-DAIRY program and as agricultural specialist for the Office of Government and Community Relations.

Lee holds degrees from The Pennsylvania State University and University of Tennessee in Animal Science with emphasis on dairy cattle nutrition.

Lee has farmed in the hills of West Virginia and the fertile uplands of Missouri. His Extension career has centered on improving management on dairy farms. Most recently, he has worked with the New York State Agriculture Environmental Management (AEM) Program helping producers, public agencies, and private consultants reduce the risks of environmental impacts from dairy, poultry and livestock farms. Lee has also worked with groups that facilitate dialogue in dispute situations over farming’s impact on neighbors and local communities.

In his responsibilities with Government and Community Relations, Lee seeks to connect expertise and resources of Cornell to emerging agricultural issues and debates in the political arena. His current PRO-DAIRY work focuses on helping dairy farms apply modern management principles and practices to improve the success and satisfaction of family farm businesses in the state.
